Hello

Had the van for a few months - just joined the forum

After flicking through a few threads, apparently proper etiquette dictates that the first post is here

So got a 110 TD5 hardtop ex-utility white van

It's special - it's got a badge to prove it LOL (I know - should use smilies - but they don't mean anything to me)
 
:welcome: sir, and congratulations on being a wise and considerate noobie.

I like folk who read first and then follow simple etiquette.

apart from personal preference - i've driven transits for years - i thought the van would be less desirable to theives - less parts to sell

having said that it was vandalised the first day i had it - passenger and rear windows smashed, steering wheel ragged and tried to set fire to the fuel tank and drivers seat - good job it's a diesel - must have been discovered quickly by the police though

it wasn't a vendetta - no one knew it was mine and it wasn't parked at home - must admit i was surprised - it's not a lamborghini etc where you sort of expect to have to be extra careful

the perpetrator was caught and it's going to crown court next month so at least they seem to be taking it seriously - don't want to say too much but i think i have more chance of getting a bj from the pope than any compensation

according to the old bill "he's sorry" and the extenuating circumstances were that he was "off his tree on drink and drugs" - so, that's alright then innit LOL

on the plus side i now have a 14" steering wheel with a suicide knob - needed as it steers like a boat :)

just had a look at the smilies - WTF - what does mil**: mean

i think i'll stick with that one - don't want to upset anyone - saw a thread the other day where a noobie and a post whore wished slow painful death on each other and then both got banned

They int called suicide knobs fer nothing ya know :rolly:

Don't worry about upsetting folk.......even not posting anything is no guarantee of not giving mortal offence :D
 
Wow, I would just tripped right out if I was in your shoes seeing my van trashed like that. Happy that it did not burn and it lived to see another day.

It looks like it's in great condition, hope to see more pics and more of what your plans are for it.

not exactly met - i still have that pleasure in store - just in the background thinking these people are not having a good day :)

(still sticking to the one smilie until i learn to drive them)
 
well yea but i must admit i do feel uncomfortable discussing someone who is unable to respond at the moment - even though i didn't mention any names
