110 spring swap or for sale

Hi everyone, most probably another silly question but I have no idea what I'm doing .
So, I bought a 110 (4 door) and it has a 2 inch lift, which I want to remove and make it standard again. It's a 1988.....apparently and was wondering if all 110 springs will fit or even if springs from a 90 will fit?
Also, if there is anyone in the South East who is wanting to have theirs lifted and might be interested in a swap, that would work well....bit of a long shot I know. Or anyone who has a set of original springs who wants to sell, please contact me. There are a few online but as luck would have it, they are miles away and most people aren't willing to ship or post them.

You will need specific 110 springs. they are not the same size as a 90.

90 and 110 front springs are the same. The rears on the 110 are a larger diameter.

I would look at Britpart springs. They are cheap, relatively good, and can be bought quickly from most places if your in a rush. You would probably make the money back if you sold the +2” kit.

Have a look here for part numbers.

I would also check what else you have fitted. If it was originally a station wagon you may still have the boge self levelling unit fitted which will almost certainly no longer be working. It is because of this there are differant spring rates for the station wagon and utility versions. Station wagon had softer springs and relied on this unit to prevent sagging under heavier loads. I would replace with utility (NOT heavy duty) standard springs.

Micks chart is spot on as it shows each spring has a slightly different rating. This is because weight is unevenly distributed around the vehicle because of position of driver, fuel tank etc. The different springs compensate for that and so keep the vehicle level (reasonably)

+1 for Britpart springs.

You can purchase a full set of 110 springs for less than £100...

I can also recommend the cheap britpart shocks at about £15 per corner. They may have only lasted me about 5 years but that was 5 years of hard use, about 100k miles, and two trips down and around Morocco. could not fault them, especially for the price
£200ish should see you with a full set of springs, shocks, galv turrets kit, and all the other misc parts you will need (spring retainers, bolts, etc.)

Wow, I didn't realise Britparts were that cheap... I will defo have a look at that right now. Thanks a million.

Cheers Mate, that is really good. I'm assuming that I have to change everything? Ie I can't leave the shocks in and just change the springs?
For that price though, I guess it doesn't matter.

You need to remove the shocks to change the springs, so makes sense to do proper job of it...

my 110 has rear springs which are two inch smaller, the chap i bought it from thought it was a sports car
not good for the td5 unit.
however i it never experianced mud, sand or deep water.
when i change them in the new year feel free have them foc.

Thanks Gaza, that's very kind but I was hoping to do it within the next few weeks, otherwise I'll just procrastinate and it will never get done. Thank you again.

It will also depends what you currently have fitted as to if they will be suitable for standard height. If you have extended shock fitted to match the extended springs (you should have if it has been done properly) you will need standard ones otherwise the shocks will bottom out before the axle hits the bumpstop.

Yeah I was wondering that and it makes sense that they would, cheers again Mate. I find it really strange that they differ so much in price. The front ones are like 19 bucks and then the left and right rear differ in price.... I assume they are made differently to accommodate different loads on the one side of the vehicle?
