I have searched extensively for information regarding the 3,500 KG gross weight "heavy duty" package once offered for the Defender 110, and I have encountered conflicting information with no clear answer; this seems to be the best place to ask. Can anyone answer the following?

- What exactly did the 110 heavy duty package package contain? I know about the dual/helper springs from the 130, though sources conflict as to whether the package came with frame reinforcements, axle modifications, and the 130/Wolf wheels.

- When was the heavy duty package first offered? Specifically, was it offered with the 300 TDI? The 2003 Defender brochure includes the optional heavy duty package, though the 1991 brochure does not, and I have not found any literature between these years.

Any information would be appreciated. Thank you.

Although I am just guessing here, you may find that if it wasn't in the earlier brochure it was available through the special vehicle branch, which was far more of a bespoke rather than a package type specification. For example the utility company defenders with the side lockers, winches etc were kitted out by special vehicles rather than ordered as extras from the catalogue.

Mine is an ex utility vehicle and has such has the side lockers and whatnot. The chassis was originally stamped HD although that didn't stop it turning into a rusted mess and going to the big scrapyard in the sky. It also originally had a PTO winch on it although this was sadly removed when I got it.
