Hi

I would to know if it possible to uprate a 3050 110 defender to 3500kgs gvw

if so what is needed and who signs it off when finished?

cheers

With the right modifications it can be done! I.E heavier duty springs, increased strength in load bay etc...
But as for who signs it off, at a guess I'd say VOSA or DVLA or something, would be best to contact them... Guess it'll probably cost ya' though! B*astards. :p

i thought all 110 where 3.5t or is it just certain ones as the 1 i have now and the 1 before it where both plated at 3.5t

most are 3050kgs

I want to make a tipper and as all the load will be carried over the back axle it needs to be the higher weight

also I want to carry heavy things like gravel and blocks

im in the process of getting mine converted into a tipper as it was a hi cap im hoping to have it done buy next sunday

i dont need to as mine is rated at 3500kgs but i have put air bags on it to help with the weight as i will be pulling a chipper plus wood chip and logs

Noisy for a noob ain't ya? An introduction might be nice too.... before someone starts shouting at you! :D

oops sorry

although new to here this question has been going on for a while

I put a post on lro with no outcome and a chap n the village said Landyzone was the way to go

Dlva say they don't know the modifaction but have a form for it

Vosa say they don't know
Landrover say they don't recomend it
but Nene who don't answer their emails openly advertise it is a service they offer

so not shouting just a little frustrated

cheers

Phone a company called Sv tech who will advise you
Though you can ignore me for a second time I have modded more different types of vehicles including Landrovers than most

Hi

didn't ignore you, new to this site ans I didn't see the little second page icon

thanks for yor help

cheers

I would have thought other than suspension and a stronger back axle everything else would be there but would need the ID plates fitted to prove it :)

Thanks to all those who replied

question in now answered

it is possible to have done and costs just over £1000 plus heavy duty wheels and tyres

There are a couple of firms who do it and they have bought the rights to do the job (paperwork wise)

a private person could also do the job but they would need tp part with approx £10000 for these rights

cheers
