my 110 DC has a vibration when you get to about 55-60 mph and can be felt through the steering wheel sometime its a light vibe other time it can be erratic. sometimes it varies on the road surface, sometimes its there sometimes its not.

anyone any ideas?

should it have a steering damper fitted?

tia

a damper helps ,it can be a lot of things ,start with feeling for play in each wheel then hold drag link and track rod in turn whilst someone rocks steering wheel vigorously

What year/engine?

It could be that the wheels arnt balanced, tracking is out, too aggressive tyres, worn steering column UJs, poor adjustment in the PAS box, worn bushes on the panhard rod, worn track rod ball joints or worn swivel bearings! There is a lot to check.

Even a thorough MOT can miss some play in the swivels, and of course won't find a wheel out of balance. I'm surprised you don't have a steering damper on a relatively modern landy.

thanks guys, checked over weekend it does have a damper fitted, will start with having wheels balanced on the front, vibration is only there for a few mph, kicks in say at 60 disappears at 65 then golden, seems strange lol

I had this, and after going through everything it turned out to be incorrect swivel preload.
But try the easy things first, wheel balance would be first on the list.
