110 CSW, replace C post or whole side assembly?

So my C post is in pretty bad shape. I got quoted £600 - £1000 to replace the whole C post or about £400 just to cut out and replace the lower section. I can get the whole galvanised side section from YRM for about £500 each. I'm not really afraid of taking my 110 to bits but only so far as removing bolts and rivets. I'm not a welder.

My questions are, how hard is it to replace the C post? I hear people talking about welding but it looks like it bolts into the lower section and I don't think there's any more steel parts for it to weld onto further up. If I just replace the whole thing can I get away without any welding.

Replacing the whole side frame is a relatively easy job, but it’s quite involved. It does just bolt in, one large bolt through the bulkhead, then several along the floor plates, seat box, roof, and crossmember (rear seat crossmember). It’s all bolts if you get the whole assembly, but if you get just the C post, it needs welding in.

If you can afford, and justify the cost, of the galvanised ones, I would go with them. The ones from YRM are very good quality.
 
How involved is it? I haven’t been able to find anything about anyone else doing it, or a guide or anything. I’m removing a lot of bit to replace the rear upper side panels and the capping a in the not too distant future. I’m guessing it would be worth doing at the same time but how much more work would it be once I have the roof and doors off?

If you already have the roof and doors off, then it’s just a few more bolts. There’s a bolt plate inside the bulkhead, with 2 bolts holding it on to the bulkhead. Several bolts along the floor plates and seatbox, seatbelt anchor mount too, then 2 that go down through the rear seat crossmember. A few rivets through the tub, and I think that’s it.
