Hey James,
Does the 200 chassis have anti roll bar mounts?
How are you mate? Still doing all that work at home?
I fitted a brand new td5 chassis to my 1985 110 and can honestly say that apart from engine mounts, and fuel tank mounts it went straight on. I remember having to cut off something that stopped something fitting properly and a couple of other very minor issues but you will have less issues with a 300.
Remember now!
It was a bracket near the fuel tank that got in the way of the sender because I used a 200 steel tank, couldn't get a plastic one at the time.
The td5 chassis even had the holes for the lt77 gearbox mount.
The chassis conversion to station wagon is just a bolt on crossmember which you've got on your old chassis(they rot too).
EDIT- dunno why but I got it in my head that Mick's chassis was a van 300.
Even easier for you then!
It definitely has rear antiroll bar mounts, not sure about the front. I couldn’t fit my old antiroll bar to the new chassis as the roll bar is for a TDI, but mine now needs a Puma roll bar. It’s been stripped and painted if you wanted that too?
I think it’s best to see the photos, I will go over and take them tomorrow, and you can decide how much of it you want, and then we can decide on a price. If we are all happy, then we can agree a date for collection?
Mine was Station Wagon, but have changed to Hard Top Van, Im sure I swapped bolt on crossmember for some reason, so should have the original which was in very god nick, so if yours is to rotted you can have this one. if its the right one, will hunt it out to see which one it is.
Thanks. Looking forward to seeing your photos
Hey, sorry, been busy the last couple of days.
Having seen your photos and added up the cost of trailer, new dumb iron and fuel I think it's probably not a realistic option..
I have no idea what I'm going to do. Hopefully save up for a new one.
Apart from the capping and doors the car isn't too bad.
I do however thank you for the trouble of getting the photos.
Much obliged to you
They probably got them open, had a look, closed them quietly and tip toed awayAfter six years on your drive l am surprised nobody has helped the dismantling by removing the doors.
