Picture 10 of your first post shows where the rust has carried on and forced the filler and paint away from the steel. If it was mine, i'd whip off the bonnet, screen hinges/brackets, front doors and vents and give the whole area a good going over with s wire brush, get rid of all that flaky paint, rust and filler, then just slap some fresh paint all over it like rustoleum after a spray with some Fertan. It won't fix any rot long term but it will slow down the process. Also, for the price of complete foot wells from YRM, it isn't worth patching them up anyore than they already are. Is that a vertical weld behind the trailing arm on the chassis??
 
i agree on the footwells, however given that they are all solid now there is no point cutting them out for new.
i intend to give it a good clean and go over, however this wont be until the weather is a little nicer :D

yes a verticle weld, but not what your thinking, its a patch on the chassis, not the chassis split in half :D
