good data that, Pikey.
how about copying it into the Q's and A's section?
so i can pretty much go a head so long as i do it by the book then? gvw=2720kg/kerb weight=2080kg.=5door model
Yup.![]()
structurally modified
yes but at the end of the day to fit a series to a rrc its a chassis mod there fore requires re test and possible q plate dependant on how much rr stuff is left.........
it does state in there somwhere that out riggers and mounts arnt structural and therfore dont count as chassis mods, plus i'm not using rrc or series parts bob![]()
Q) Is it acceptable to remove bodymounts, which contribute no strength to the chassis when changing a body to a different style /make?
A) Yes, providing they are additional to and are not an integral part of the chassis structure.
Not quite....
It doesn't state what is/isn't structural but it does clarify that non-structural mounts can be removed. The bulkhead mounts are most certainly structural, plenty of people have failed the MoT test with rotten ones.
no'there not structural to the chassis it's self.they are only structural to the body hence the reason why you can replace them.
It is acceptable .... to add additional crossmembers but not to alter the existing chassis in any way to allow for their installation.
It is NOT acceptable to shorten, or lengthen the chassis, either in between standard suspension points or fore and aft of these.
right just had a good long conversation with an sva/iva technition and because there would involve alterations to the chassis however small it's a 50/50 gamble on whether you get issued a "Q" plate sooooo it doesent look like i shall be partaking in this venture after all unless i can get a positive yes that i'll get an age related plate![]()
