is it do able with a disco chassis and what about getting it registered?
no sorry red should ave eggsplaned betterer ,building a 100"deepender using a disco chassis instead of a rangie/110.
Should think so, can't think of any reasons why not -- apart from the fact that lots and lots of old Disco's are rotboxes!![]()
Ah reet now I understand. Yes it's doable and quite common. Defenderdavie is in the process of building himself a disfender
its just a body change on docs from estate to light utility.
what no sva and/or 'Q' plate?
Not if its just a body change and the chassis is not cut. (Of course, that will leave you with the rear overhang of the Disco). It would carry the old reg of the Disco (the chassis), not the bodywork on top. IF the chassis-body mounts need altering, which I suspect they'd do, then you will need to go through IVA. SVA is the old scheme and Q plate is used to register a car of unknown build date or otherwise. But you do know it - its the date of the disco (chassis).
right from what ive read on various site's including iva info it wont need sva or iva cos i'm not going to be altering the wheel base at all'so sofar all's looking good, but i shall be making a call to the right people for a definate answer just incase and hopefully get some for of writen confirmation.quite looking forward to doing this in the not too distant now.
bigest question is when your body change from estate to utility comes aparrent do you have to go class 7 mot.....
