so i retrofitted the cruise control on my 03 disco. all looked fine and i can see on nanocom that the switch works. however the Set + button doesnt seem to be doing anything? what am i misisng? how can i check if the switch is maybe faulty?

Silly question! But have you turned on the switch at the dash???

Kev
Yes, so i turned on the switch which lights up and then i got up to speed and pressed the set + and i let go of the accelerator but nothing happened. Was expecting it to maintain that speed or at least feel some kind of trottle response ?

if I remember correctly the brake pedalswitch has two circuits one for the brake light and second circuit to switch off the cruise.

As above! Check the pedal assembly, to check that the actuator is engaging when working the pedals?

Kev

Your D3 must be different ☹️ if set, the cruise control will disengage if the brake or clutch pedal is pressed.
I had a problem with my pedals! Water had come in and screwed the main pedal shaft! So the actuator was not engaging with the cruise control or the brake light! Because of the rust around the shaft (see pic 😮)

After changing! No more problems !

That's why I asked if he had checked the part!

My car is a 99 Td5! 😁

Go with nanocom In BCU - Settings - Alarm/others - 4'th page and make sure that Cruise control appears as "Enabled"

so this is part of the accelerator pedal right? is there any way i can test if this is my problem without getting the pedal apart?

Just a bit of a side issue....
Knowing how small and overpopulated Malta is, I a wondering what you need it for.

I use mine on motorways mostly for comfort's sake, and N roads, (the equivalent of A roads) to avoid getting tickets, and occasionally in town to avoid getting done for speeding, but I have to keep reswitching it on, obviously.
;)

100% valid point however i also travel to continental europe or africa and there cruise control is very convenient. This a photo from my latest adventure in the sahara :D

when i press the cruise control button the little light turns on , i accelerate normally to desired speed and then try to press the buttons but nothing happens. horns work, yes
You have to press the SET+ only not buttons ...did you read the WSM about how to operate the CC?

yes that is correct, these are the steps i tried:

1. Cruise Control Master Switch

  • Located on the fascia to the right of the steering wheel.
  • Press it to turn cruise control on—you'll see the amber light on the dash
2. Setting Your Desired Speed
  • Once you’re at a steady speed of around 30 mph (48 km/h), press the "SET+" button on the steering wheel .
  • The system will hold that speed, and the cruise indicator remains on.
3. Adjusting Speed
  • Use SET+ to increase speed in small increments.
  • Use RES (Resume/Accel) to bring speed back up to the most recent set value after slowing down

Can my problem be down to my 1.4 transfer case by any chance? would the different ratio mess up cruise control?
