If you start feeling irregular vibration that comes and goes on P38, it could be the EAS compressor!

I've been wondering for so long what the vibration is, thinking it must be the gearbox, until one day I opened the bonnet and saw it clear as day: the EAS compressor is fighting for its life. The vibration builds up and then releases with a slight "tss" sound and drops the front suspension a bit. I guess an airspring swap is in order, I managed to swap the right one some months ago when it blew, now need to do the left one. Does anybody know if I should also order another compressor overhaul kit? Or can the compressor keep running reliably after this? And has anybody ordered air suspension parts from Aerosus? Thanks!

Air springs should be swapped in axle pairs and if the fronts need doing then the rears will be even worse if they have not been done. Sounds like the compressor mounts need replacing, otherwise, unless it runs for a very long time it sounds normal.

We've used aerosus before for our own and client's cars👍

Always worth having a refurb kit just in case. That way if it fails one day, you can refurn in the evening, and have the car going ready for the next day !!

As Keith says, excessive vibration is usually one or two of the rubber mounts failed.

Dont forget the dished washers on the pump mounts go a certain way they should dish )( that way not ().
and whey only need to be nipped up not screwed down tight
