Cigar Lighters ??? 2004 L322 V8 Petrol BMW

Ok ,thought i would swap out the 3 cigar lighters for USB chargers .
All going well until i found out that they are not powered.
I have checked the fuse in the boot and it is ok

Normally they are only powered when the ignition is on

Why have your battery flattened when you are not in the car and driving it?

Mine came perm live. You swap the relay in the rear fuse box for a link. Just trying to find the thread from when I did it.

Can't find the thread but pretty sure it's this link makes the front live

Hi all. i meant to say that there is no power to the cigar lighters when ignition on or off.
I did try and find something on here about the relays so thankyou for the pic of them . might just order a new one to see if it works .
Looks like its a problem encountered before .

i couldn't find anything in rear fuse box that wasn't permanently live on my one?

To make it switched live you just replace that link with a relay. Couldn't find the relay pinouts on any diagrams but this is from my metering out.

Think ive found the culprit.... if i rotate this relay 90 degrees clockwise the cigar lighters become perm live, Thankyou for the pictures it realy helped sort this one out .

That's just a link in a relay box. Have you checked fuses 1 & 7 rear and fuse 2 passenger box

Yes ... All in and not blown . tested lighter and it heated up red hot.

looks like it was in the wrong position before so connected sockets to earth.

Fuse 5 is spare but from memory that's ignition fed
