Shipping my landy to Oz What's involved?

Yes have shipped our red 110 to Australia 12 years ago.
Firstly it must be cleaner than clean as clean or cleaner than it left the factory.
No old winch ropes, straps etc. No wood unless it is certified.
How long are you going for? More than 3 months than you need to be able to prove your finances.
You will need a carnet for vehicle. Depending on value of vehicle, length of time away may have to provide a bond of some sort.
Communication, mobile phone coverage only covers about 5% of country area. Two types of radio, Australian CB about 50 mile range, UHF (?) radio for emergency use or sat phone.

I'm just thinking of it at the moment. If I did go I would want to go for possibly a year . The place is so vast , I wouldn't want to feel rushed.
Did you have any major issues, are spares easily sourced out there ?
I have a wolf 90 so was thinking towing a penman trailer would be the way to go for me.
In 8 months only saw a small part of Australia. 12 months definitely need to prove your finances, slightly easier if only a single entry visa compared to a 1 year multiple entry visa.
Travelled as a solo vehicle and did things like Simpson desert etc. No major issues.
Take notice of advice about road restrictions
Get new tyres, carry 2 spare + inner tubes and have a good compressor and air tank. Needed a new tyre when was in Darwin, had to come up grom Melbourne, took 3 days.
Get onto AULRO forum they are a helpful bunch.
You will need extra fuel tanks. Top up tanks as often as possible as they can be a long way apart. Plan on enough fuel not to next fuel station but the one after it just in case no fuel at the nearest one/pump out of action etc. Yes did come across that situation.
Allow plenty of time for the shipping a day or two delay in Bay of Biscay may mean a week delay at Singapore if they are trans shipping the container.

To get to Oz you need either a tornado or a hot air balloon.

Vehicle insurance maybe difficult to get for a long trip to Oz from the UK
Australia has a green and pink slip situation. One is insurance and the other is MOT. The Australian MOT used to be less stringent than the UK one.
Now if you are going to Australia for a long period and have need for regular medicine get a proper letter from your GP. See an Australian GP and they can issue a repeat serial type prescription so you can pick up your medical supplies every month or so as you travel around.
