From what i can recall wires are Red White, Green, Brown
Heated seat loom colours are brown, green and red with white tracer.
Hmm. Not sure what the plug I've found is for?!?
But the long and short appears to be that my non-sitcom car does not have the prerequisite loom.
I guess that saves deep roasted posteriors!

In fact, there is no retained blank in the dash: that's the whole hole!
Looking at the plug under the seat, the wires all look far too thin to take a decent current: what are they for? I'll see whether I can google the wire colours...

You could find the seat heater wiring under the centre console. I would have thought that they are there.
The plug you found is most likely to be for the CD changer. I have one of you're interested?
Sadly (or a good thing?) a previous owner has changed the original head unit for an aftermarket JVC with DAB and WiFi. Streams music from my phone very nicely actually! Lol
No sign of wiring either under the seats or behind the console that I can find. Remember, this car doesn't have air con and doesn't have the loom for that either.

So it must be a true poverty model then. You could install the seat wiring very easily. It's only a wire from the fuse box (F20) then to the seat switches, then on to the seat. The rest of the electrics (relay and wiring) is mounted to the seat frame.

My first K series 3Dr FL1 had nothing, not even HDC. It was a nice silver colour on the outside but I didn't like the green plastics inside.PS not as minimal as some of the L-series FL1s I've seen on eBay recently (innsplendid 1990s colours!): at least it has HDC!
My next K series was a 50th Anniversary 5 door model that was fully loaded and much nicer for it.
The green steering wheel is a bit much I agree. I could get along with the green instrument binnacle surround, but mine being a 2001MY is rather more toned down. Just right actually.
And not having air con means that the alternator is mounted higher up on the block, so hopefully a little less vulnerable to muddy water
