cruise control question

hi still working on this cruise control to get it working.thiings ive done. checked all vacume hoses. brought anew switch. brought secondhand vacume pump. brought ecu. done the wire test and all tested good. and like i say had the ecu arrive today so took it out for a short test drive got it to about 30mph and it would not work. is there a certain speed i have to reach before it works .this is on a disco1 3.9v8

have you check for speed input signal voltage? Brake pedal switch operation?

hi yes ive done all that and signal from all.and drove down road and get road signal on my multimeter. plus i did the link over in the ecu plug and got the pump working. it did work at one stage then died so i thought ecu. so got one on ebay for 7.50 put it in today drove upto 30mph and nothing.

The one on my Disco 2 won't work unless I'm doing 30mph, I would guess it's the same on yours. It's most useful on a motorway, although I use mine to keep my speed at the limit in towns.

hi yes i got mine to 30mph today lifted the switch towards myself to accelerate and nothing.will try it later again on a longer road.

Daft question, but is it switched on? There's a binnacle switch on mine that must be active before the Set button does anything.

yes but i cant here the relay clicking now when i press the switch.so now looking for powqer will check tomoz.

hi update. all power and all relays and switches working. but still nothing really confused now,

Leaky hose or throttle actuator maybe, assuming the vac pump is operating and u have a vacuum.
