defender 90 300 tdi uj replacement

hi guys, new to this, sorry if its been covered before but i cant find the answer im looking for, took my front prop off today and replaced my ujs, needle rollers all seem fine but the new ujs are a little stiff to move, they have been fully greased but i have not refitted the prop yet, there is no notchy movement to them, just a bit stiff, is this normal? thanks jarrod

Mine are too loose, yours are too tight, perhaps we should swap??

Sometimes the yoke can be closed up slightly whilst removing the old uj, just knock it out a touch with a hammer until the uj loosens up a little. It should be free but not loose.

A bit stiff sounds about right. If a needle had moved it would burst out the casing whilst fitting clip. Just grease up and enjoy.

Sounds perfectly normal for a new UJ.

The will soon move when in position on the flanges and doing their job.
