Have taken off steering column cowl and undone the multi plug.

I removed the two tiny screws that go into the switch which made the switch loose, but there is something still holding it.

I saw this instruction on the web, but the screws I took out don't look the same as in this photo and to do that will mean taking the s-wheel apart. The screws I took are on the right of the arrow in the picture.

Any clues? I'm just going to find a 'thing' to push that retaining clip...

Answered my own thread :)

It is the small screws on the RHS and to release the 'clip' a small screwdriver inserted behind the switch housing just flexes it enough to allow the 'pimple' on the switch to slide out from that little hole.

I removed the steering wheel and airbag **Disconnect battery 10 mins beforehand **, removed airbag casette.
Remove the 2 screws referred to, depress the small "Nib" and "Jiggle the switch out by pulling at the same time.
Mine was quite stiff before it started to come out.

Read the instructions in RAVE/Haynes.

Done !! :tea:

See photo attached. No need to take off steering wheel.

Procedure as follows:

Undo two (Ph2) screws from under side of cowl. The third hole is just a plastic spigot.
Release top half of cowl by jiggling to release where it is clipped together with the bottom. Remove top half. Leave bottom half hanging.

Undo two small (Ph1) screws - one shown in photo.

Insert screwdriver as shown to release 'nib' and pull.

Remove the two multi-plugs and free the black socket from it's location. It's kinda just wedged in place and the screwdriver freed it easily.

See my other post for cleaning instructions. No need for a new switch.

Replacement the reverse of removal.

Switch now working perfectly.
