anyone know where i can get a good cheap battery for a diesel series 3 ?

I use one of these:

Running bull from Banner Batteries

I can't say its cheap, but then I always found the cheaper ones would fail me when it was cold. I use it on my defender but I also used it on my 110 (the '86 model) so it should work with a SIII

Mine came from fleabay, but theres none on there right now. Tractor/plant suppliers are ya best bet.

Go to your local motor factors. Stay well away from the likes of halfrauds or LR dealers.

thanks,i know about cheap batterys but i just need it to get through the mot , if it then passed i would save up and get a good battery expensive or not and then use the other battery as a ' dual '

Told ya. Go to your local spares place. Not specialist landy place just the local motor spares place that supplies the trade.

go to yer local agricultural merchants and buy the biggest tractor battery that you can afford / will fit.

thanks , got a battery works well and it is amazing how the lecky bits on a landy seem to get better with a new battery,thanks again .............
