    Upgrading the brakes

Cheers brown. Might go for a set similar. Think I'll just do pads and discs for now. Might go in for a full overhaul next year.

    Rear lights

I know what you mean. I took mine to a hand car wash once. The chaps started rinsing of the soap with pressure washers, I got soaked. Thought I was going to drown in the drivers seat.

    Rear lights

I've just had to repair my one of my rear indicator's as one of the pins in the connector had corroded and broke. I've never really noticed before how rubbish the protection for these rear lights is. The flap that hangs down is as use as a glass hammer. Especially with the rear wheels kicking up...

    Radio question

What's the best way of getting wires in and out of the fuse box. I've tried but they seem stuck fast.

    Strange electrics

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me. I was driving my td5 defender 90 this morning on the motorway and a nice chap let me in a gap. I went to use my hazards to acknowledge him. They didn't work. Instead I heard a crackling noise and the radio went off. Does any body have a clue what's going on. I...

    No lights.

Hi, Went to drive home from work last night in my defender td5 and found that I had no headlights, sides, rears and dash lights. Had to break a spur out if the cig lighter to get them on to allow me to drive home. I tried changing the fuses and I swapped the relays about. No joy. I'm hoping...

    An expensive MOT

He has started the work, but he's waiting for me to provide the locking wheel nut. I forgot to take it with me. I would love to do the work but I just don't have anytime at the mo. Busy at work and with a 4 month old it's tricky. He's taking the handbrake apart to do adjust the pads I think.

    An expensive MOT

Hi, Just heard back from the garage where my 90 td5 was having an MOT and service. It needs some work doing, It needs rear discs and pads (just had it waxoyled and they got it all over the brakes and they are contaminated). Front swivel housing and ball socket replaced, Tightening hand...

Which is better, a removable pedal lock or fixed.

I'm looking at getting a pedal lock for my defender. I've looked at the 'ard case and the mighty box which are removable. Do these have any benefits over say the x-defend pedal lock which is fixed to the floor. Obviously the x-defend will be quicker to lock and unlock, but I'm wondering about...

    How to paint my hinges

Hi, I've just bought some replacement hinges for my 90's front doors. I was wondering what would be the best way to spray paint them. Should I just spray the whole thing or should I knock out the pins and spray the two halves then re assemble. Not an important job or query, but I thought I'd...

    Clutch issues

Cheers chaps. Got them both changed. I wanted to do it myself but didn't have the time. I've been working 11 hour shifts the last 2 weeks. By the sounds of it though I would of struggled. It took the mechanic 3 hours to get get the clutch box off. He had a mare apparently. Got dingpro parts...
