    Electric window mod

Hello. When I read about your conversion, I tried to get one kit myself. But CarSpares doesn't ship to Sweden. Is it possible that you (= any helpful soul) could help me by getting a kit and send it to Sweden? Of course I will pay you in advance, p&p and all. Anyone? Please? Thankyou! e-mail...

    Afraid of the dark..?

The bonnet does not reflect the light. But I can see the underside of the glass lenses and that light reflects into every little speck of dirt in the windscreen, as if you are wearing dusty sunglasses. I think I will have to put some kind of "upside down eye lids" on each light. I mounted...

    Afraid of the dark..?

... not anymore! In spite of temperatures down to -12C and a bone shattering wind I managed to get the wiring together.

    Help with wiring decoding

Thank you! Being a newbie around a Landy (more accustomed to vintage Saabs) nothing is obvious. Even the fact that black usually is earth isn't always correct. In old Opels (sorry: Vauxhalls that is) earth wiring is brown. Will be back with pics.

    Help with wiring decoding

In front of the gear sticks there is a panel, containing the cigarette lighter and switches for the seat heaters. For better access I turned the panel upside down to get the lighter out of the way. But, as usually, I didn't make a note of the wiring to the heater switches before I disconnected...

    Temperature gauge or/and

When visiting the local dealer workshop I mentioned the temp gauge. The mechanic checked the engine with a computer and discovered that the ECU is not original, but from a Disco 2. You get two effects from this. The gauge is the most visible sign, but you also get a small improvment since the...

    Studded tires - finally!

It was pitch black when i came home. No possibilities to take any pics. Sorry. And regarding the spelling of Hakkapeliitta: I assume that the stress is on the i:s, but I don't Finnish spelling or pronouncing particularily well. Anteeksi.

    Studded tires - finally!

Today I finally got to mount the brand new studded Hakkapellitta tires on my 110 HCPU. I used to have terrain tires, several years old. And since a blizzard hit us with a foot of snow and hard winds with the usual warning from the national weather forecast agency I drove to work veeery...

    Temperature gauge or/and

Yeah, lol.... But frankly, there is only three components here: the sender, the wiring and the gauge. All you people with some experience of LR's, where should I start my search? Which of the mentioned are most likely to break down? All tips appreciated. Thank you.

    Temperature gauge or/and

I seem to have an odd problem with the temperature gauge or/and sender in my Td5 (Defender 110). When the engine is cold the gauge shows "H" and as the engine warms up the gauge sinks towards the "cold" mark. The wiring can't be mixed since they have these grooves that make the socket only fit...

    Greetings from Sweden

Thank you, I am sure I will enjoy it to the fullest. I will fit studded tires as soon as possible. It is compulsory to have M+S tires from Dec 1st when it is icy conditions. And it is now, to say the least. It is not common with snow this early here in the southernmost parts of Sweden. In the...

    Greetings from Sweden

In the middle of November 2012 I bought my first Land Rover, a Defender 110 HCPU. I traded my very fast, comfortable, safe and well equipped Saab 9-3 to get it. And compared to the Saab the Defender is contrary in every aspect. And as rare as Saabs are in the UK they are common in Sweden. But...
