    Spigot bush lube?

Ok, will do. I had heard that filling it to the brim with oil while in the palm of your hand, and then squeezing your other palm on top of it until oil seeps through on the outside of the bush works too. I haven't tried this, but I want to just to see if it works! Either way, I'll boil it...

    Spigot bush lube?

So, would doing a simple oil press be better than soaking it?

    Spigot bush lube?

    Will do, thanks everyone!

    Spigot bush lube?

Ok, and this time I'll try soaking it in oil first, since the previous bushes didn't last very long. Anybody know why this issue plagues Td5s?

    Spigot bush lube?

So, are we agreeing now that the problem is the spigot bush and not the release bearing?

    Spigot bush lube?

    Nope, always careful about that.

    Spigot bush lube?

Ok, well, I'm planning to change the clutch in May, so I hope it lasts until then! However, searches here and in other forums sure turn up a lot of people with this same noise on their Td5s, and it's always the spigot bush. Apparently LR had issued some kind of report about this regarding Td5s...

    Spigot bush lube?

Interesting… I was certain that noise with the clutch pedal down is the bearing, while noise releasing (or depressing) the pedal is the bush. Also, last time we had it open to change the clutch we ended up changing only the spigot bush (replacement clutch parts couldn't get delivered in time due...

    Spigot bush lube?

No, never. Also no troubles with any of the gears. Only when releasing the pedal or, less often, while depressing it.

    Spigot bush lube?

Pretty sure it's the bush. The noise is intermittent, worse when cold and usually as the clutch is engaging (releasing the pedal, though sometimes also when the pedal is depressed).

    Spigot bush lube?

I think in my case it's not too tight. When first installed it's fine, then after a couple of years of heavy use they start to make the vibrating buzz sound, and this progresses into the louder screaming sound. There are sure conflicting opinions re. lube with this teeny tiny part!

    Spigot bush lube?

Haha! Two conflicting answers right off the bat. Yes, the bronze is auto-lubricating, but it is also porous. That said, soaking it in oil or doing an oil press first can fill those pores. Still awaiting a definitive answer!

    Spigot bush lube?

I have a Td5 2000, and over the last 7 years I've had to change the spigot bush twice. Now it's screaming again so I'm looking at a third time. This time I will probably change out the whole clutch too. Anyhow, I'm wondering if anyone knows why the Td5s wear out their spigot bushes so fast, is...

transfer box crisis - no rear drive

Great diagram, thanks. Yep, it looks a bit different, but it makes sense. I'm going to try to free it up with some lube spray and then fiddle with it more if necessary. Thanks!

transfer box crisis - no rear drive

I'm not sure which part you mean by 'arm'. The little lever/switch thingy above the tranny?

transfer box crisis - no rear drive

Well, I've just checked and the dash light does not light up in difflock, so it looks like it's not engaging and therefore the issue is drive going to the easiest wheel. The jacked wheel did turn and the rear shaft didn't, so now it's making sense. So, Monday I'm going into the centre panel...

transfer box crisis - no rear drive

I think so, but I'll double check. We lifted the front left wheel and tried regular drive and difflock but the rear prop shaft didn't turn at any time. I suppose that it could be the difflock since in regular hi/lo the drive would go to the easiest wheel, in this case the left front. The real...

transfer box crisis - no rear drive

Hi everyone I’m mostly a lurker around here, but I have a question that I hope to get your feedback on. I did a search, but I cannot find anyone describing this same problem with the transfer box. I was on the highway and my front u-joint was going, so I stopped and took off the front prop...

    help! headlamps always on

I thought I'd post the solutions I've found in case someone else finds themselves with the same problem. Someone in another forum had suggested the relay as well, the dim/dip relay. But apparently, mine doesn't have one. However, the fog lamp relay seems to be the problem. I removed it and...

    help! headlamps always on

Hi, I am hoping someone here can help me. I have a 110/2000, and recently the headlamps starting misbehaving. A few months ago, the lights stayed on after the switch and the engine was off, so I unhooked the battery and in the morning when I reconnected the battery the problem was gone. Then it...
