    Hi nodge, Ive done a compression test and all 4 cylinders read about 14 bar after 3 or 4 turns. If I let it run for 10 secs as the Haynes manual says the pressure keeps rising until the compression tester goes pop !!

    Tell me about it. Ive checked the oil and water again today and no oil in the water or visa versa. ive checed the 2 breathers at the back of the cam cover and they are clear. If the piston rings were passing would this show on the spark plugs ??

    Hi Guys, The garage just replaced the cat and said everything was ok on the diagnostics . It may have missed a couple of oil changes but I've always used a fully synthetic oil as recommended. I have already had a new engine after 45000, hgf ! This one has done about 65000.

    Hi Vertuas, I have checked the oil filler cap and the dipstick. no sign of any white stuff or a change in oil colour. car does get hot but temp gauge never moves off half way.

    Hello to all.

    Thanks for the speedy replies, In case it may help, the ticking noise is very fast, faster than the wheels are turning. It's as if a moving part is rubbing/ catching on slow cornering. Kind regards.
