Ok....the Landrover you buy will most likly have lived outside.....if stored under cover its much better for it.....but seems you have no choice. A rag top will be ok outside....yes it wont last as long as for one kept undercover....prob sunlight does the most damage.....my last rag top lived...

When you say turns backwards ok.....is that a full turn or you a part turn.

If you feel the air output from the blower as the speed increases.....it starts to blow in puffs.....and is very inefficient.

I took my heater box to bit years ago....found same as you.....so many gaps around the matrix.....a lot air thats suppose to go through the matrix to be warmed bypast it....I filled the gaps with foam or what ever it needed. Getting the thermostat at its best is important.seen several over the...

643 or 644 is the factory fitted battery on a S3.....cannot remember wich of those 2....as some body said its the same batt but lugs on other side. I bought my S3 2.25d new....thats the type of batt it had. There are prob better modern types but you asked which was fitted from New.

Has your gear stick any resistance going into reverse.....if not the spring stop as somebody else mentioned with be missing....make finding your gear hit and miss. Odd your wiper move at diffent speeds....something must be slipping.
