Whine which disappears when engine warm?

Today's crystal ball goes to easye1! Thanks. Popped the bonnet this morning & lo & behold the power steering fluid was just below the min level. Quick trip to my local fabulous garage & came away with it topped & & 1/4 bottle of proper landrover fluid to keep in the landy in case it drops...

Whine which disappears when engine warm?

ok thanks - I might have to find a way of getting it to the garage before Christmas cos I don't want that happening. Last yr the starter motor went just before Christmas & I was stuck without a vehicle until after the New Year as no one was working or shipping parts out. Typical it plays up...

Whine which disappears when engine warm?

sorry I'm very new to looking under the bonnet - which belt - where is it. I'll take it into the garage after Christmas but just need to know I'm not at risk of doing any damage if I drive it until I get chance. I know that's an impossible thing to say for sure but if it's a slipping / loose /...

Whine which disappears when engine warm?

I know description is very vague - can't think how else to describe it. Just seems strange it virtually disappears after a few mins of running - & it isn't just that I turn the radio up!!!! Hoping to get reassurance that if I keep driving it til after Christmas that nothing horrid is going to...

Whine which disappears when engine warm?

Discovery 2 which has started making a horrid whine when first started. It isn't that loud but increases with revs and then much louder when steering wheel turned. After driving for about 5 mins it virtually disappears. Any ideas what it could be?

Arrrgh When will it end - Starter Motor

It is a 3 month RAC warranty which has the £500 limit. When I had the initial problem with fuel pressure regulator leaking the garage refused to pay for the repair. As there has been so many faults I have written to the garage to ask for payment of the repairs as I don't consider that they...

Arrrgh When will it end - Starter Motor

It's an RAC warranty so can have it locally - I want to learn how to do things - just might need some help along the way. There a a few local guys who are v reasonable - when it's going I love driving it. I'd like to have a play off road at some point although might ask if I can tag along...

Arrrgh When will it end - Starter Motor

Any idea how long a garage would take to fit - am thinking that with getting it to a garage approx £50, 363 + VAT £436 it doesn't leave anything for labour. Are the Denso ones better than Britpart - although Denso one only has 1 yr warranty.

Arrrgh When will it end - Starter Motor

He didn't think it was the solenoid & given that it is covered by warranty I'd rather replace the whole lot. Need advice on what to go for - from Paddocks the aftermarket one is £95 with a 2 yr warranry & the Denso is £155 with 1 yr warranty. Genuine landrover one is £363. All + VAT. Any...

Arrrgh When will it end - Starter Motor

No sooner had I go the landy back from having a replacement compressor when the very next time I went to start it - click - mutter under breath - click - swear - click - swear some more - click - blue air - vroom! It took several click to start each time that day but then yesterday refused to...

    Suspension flat

no more saggy bottom! Jackstringer's mate took it away last night & returned it today after fitting another compressor - looks very different with the back end at the right height. It didn't cost a fortune thankfully - good to have made contact with a local guy who is reasonable as the...

    Suspension flat

"fuse FL9 and relay R5 from engine bay must be checked" How do I do this. I popped round this morn for jackstringer to have a look & established that it really is too low at the back. If the fuse & relay are ok I will get some of the emergency air valves - are they easy to fit...

http://www.landyzone.co.uk/lz/attachment.php?attachmentid=27511&stc=1&d=1323894852 It was 29" to the wheel arch & it didn't make any difference when I pressed the OFM Thanks for braving the cold Jack - I'm on the Mendips as well & know how chilly it is out there - I thought I was going to get...

    Suspension flat

Thanks for the explanations - it back of the disco is down evenly both sides - I'm not sure what the "normal" height should be - I guess I could go round tesco's carpark looking at other discos. If the ORM doesn't make it go up does that imply the compressor is gone? Will it eventually end...

    Suspension flat

So the ORM(I'm leaning!) should make the suspension rise if the compressor is working ok? If it doesn't what will happen if I ignore it? Will it make it undrivable if it gives out completely? The fuel filter light came on before I had the fuel filter changed(last week) & it's still doing it -...
