The alternator turns freely I was just thinking that maybe when the old belt was breaking down a bit could have got inside the alternator and damaged the internals?

I've taken the battery off to charge at the moment. Will check the d+ for 12v when I refit it.

What sort of disco do you want to swap for?

I want to buy a stereo (head unit) to return my disco to standard. I've found one for sale but it has no code. Is it possible to get these codes or should I give it a miss? Or does anyone have a stereo with code that they would like to sell?

I have and I left £5k in the glovebox. If you'd like to pm me ill pop round and pick it up.

Just knock on the door, but don't expect them for nowt. Some people keep hold of stuff like this in the hope that they will get time one day to earn their money back. Offer a fair price and I'm sure they'll be yours.

My 300tdi can cruise at 80 all day. I used to regularly drive it to Germany and it would do it for hours no problem.

I need a new key fob for my Disco 300tdi. It's 433mhz (1207-5 written on the inside) does anyone have one in decent condition?

Do you have a key fob?

It sounds like an earth problem (especially the rear light dimming the front one). I've got my fingers crossed for ya, trouble free motoring is just around the corner.

Could it be a worn wheel bearing?

I'll try wiring it straight in and see how it sounds otherwise I'll run a separate amp, just didn't fancy messing about fitting an after market amp when there is already one fitted.
