Starting from cold problems (diesel)
Well - just an update :) My Freelander went in for an service & MOT. Anyway - she passed the MOT fine - no problems at all. I mentioned the starting problem, and all the usual checks were carried out (Glo plugs etc) - all were fine. Then the mechanic (not a Land Rover one I hasten to add)...- mark.peters

Yep - have tried giving the glo-plugs a couple of turns - but seems to make little or no (noticeable) difference. I've read stories about low fuel pump pressure, fuel pump problems etc but I haven't got any of the other symptoms. Oh yeah - in the summer months everything is fine ... no...- mark.peters

Help .... My 1998 2.0ltr Diesel Freelander is not very well ... Starting from cold is troublesome ... engine cranks for anything upto 15 seconds before firing ... yet when hot no problem at all.
