yeah im a bit clueless when it comes to 4x4s as my discovery is only the second i have owned, the first being a sportrak :) do you have a guide that i can read on lifting the axle?

i mean i dont mind paying for springs and shocks if i have too but if theres a more common easier way i dont know about i would like to give that a go. and as for lowering the axle, i didnt even think of that, i just want it to ride higher so whatever is most common i suppose? thanks

the diffs were seized, i used the guide that tuscanraider posted and the brute force option worked wonders for me. i just removed the centre console and before i crawled underneath for a look i basically jus stood at the drivers side and gave the transfer box stick a shove and it began to move...

hi, i want to lift my discovery a couple of inch for a bit of light offroading and just becaus i think it looks good, and i have been looking for a kit to do this (mostly on ebay). i see theres springs, bushes, spacers etc.. and the price varies from 40 quid up to 200 ish i dont think i will...

cheers for the replys, i got back off my weekend away the other day and i drove it about 300 miles over the full 4 days and it was faultless... apart from a small oil leak wich i have yet to figure out where its coming from. but its not too bad as i havent had to top it up yet

i have found a fuse for it on the small panel next to the battery, the fuse is for air con fans/comp clutch. i guess the comp clutch has something to do with the air con? if so i think that is problem fixed :)

i might just do that when i get back off my holiday cheers, althought it doesnt bother me too much just as long as its not knackered. as for downgearing into first, i guess thats something i am going to have to put up with thanks for the reply

hi, thanks for the reply it is a 300 series, and no it is not over heating, the temprature gauge sticks nicely at about half way and they come on from cold as soon as i turn the ignition on
