    Hi Again John, No i haven't cleaned the egr valve, i'll do that next job,or remove as you say. I'll also keep an eye on any residual oil that may stiil be getting to the red plug. Thanks again for your help. Mick.

    Hi Tom,Thanks for your reply, I haven't noticed any other problems, other than the engine misfire,i have carefully cleaned the ecu, also as you suggested cleaned the residual oil. It may in fact not be the oiling problem at all but everything points to that. Thanks Mick

    Hi John thanks for the reply, out on the road everything is ok until you hit around 55/60 mph when the engine starts misfireing,(not backfireing) up to this speed everything is fine the engine revs freely and performs normally. Hope that helps, Mick

    Hi, I'm sure this topic has been covered a million and one times so apologies, My 1999 TD5 defender has succumbed to the injector loom oiling problems, I have carefully replaced the loom, cleaned the oil from the ecu red plug but still have the problem, my question/s are, do i need to replace...
