    Just by way of an update.... well, I've got near success.... Basically, I am NOT using the pre-outs on the head unit since I discovered that although the HK has built in amps, they do expect speaker level input (or at least much higher level than RCA preouts). So I am using the head units...

    I'll battle on for another day and see how I go, if the re-attach and fiddle with the old unit doesn't work then I'll probably re-wire and ditch the HK gear. If I try on this too much longer I'm close to just driving it into Sydney harbour and getting a push bike and an iPod just to make life...

    Chaps I'm having a nightmare with this f**king thing.... OK, I have (had) a clarion head unit with the KH amps in the doors and the sub woofer in the boot. So, I purchased an after market Kenwood with pre-outs for Front L+R, Rear L+R and Subwoofer L+R and also a 4 channel amplified...
