Hi Mondo Just cleaned my MAF with a degreasing spray and dried it with dry compressed air. Seems to to be working fine now.

Cheers Mondo I got the idea from somebody who posted a thread with the same problem on a V6 so I would like to thank them. It just shows the benefits of club web sites.

£55 from the dealer, could of got it cheaper at Lucas parts but they couldn't match the part number. It turns out my new sensor has a new number which is recognised by lucas. however they wanted £45 so I've only lost a tenner.

I replaced the cam sensor today and the problem is fixed. No more sitting in ASDA carpark for 2 hours waiting for the engine/cam sensor to cool down.
