what is the number of the ignition switch you are trying to use ,and is it the diesel version and not a petrol version info please

may be wrong but do you not have to measure the piston protrusion to determine the right thickness head gasket to fit I would check https://www.youtube.com/@Vera_and_Christian

I would personally measure the bore before assuming they are standard ,if you have the old rings you could fit one and measure the gap to see if using the same is in tolerance and feasible or if remedial work is required .guessing can be expensive

is it fitted with a trailer socket has the screen leaked recently (headers) ,dim dip relay ,column switch checked etc etc more info please

just because it shiny and new does not mean it's working ( could be a Chinese interment camp rebelling against the lose of body organs )
