Curious as to why defender is better than disco? Must be something in it as they are so damn epensive :-)

Just browsing the forum as a newbie before I buy a Disco (1 or 2) Read many tims about "3 amigos" Guess they are warning lights? Need to make sure in case the "3 amigos" come on when i'm checking out my "new" disco and don't realise it :-) Thank you

Err 1999 110 in Oz £16,000! So guess same line of thought, buy in UK and export. Missus still wants a Disco though!

MAY be cheaper but current searches on flebay Western Australia flagged up just one 1997 Disco over the last month @ a price of £6K So thought would get a newer one in UK (with much more choice) for less, still have money for shipping. There is a thriving Land Rover forum over there so bits...

Retiring soon, had company car for last 22 yrs, now looking for a Discovery. I trained as an HGV mechanic and enjoy repairing anything on bikes and cars so whichever car I have must be a DIY proposition. Car will be going with us to Oz next year (emigrating) to be used for towing a caravan...

Exporting Elldiss Oddysey caravan to Oz when we emigrate later this year. Will buy TD5 Disco in Oz to tow it around Oz (will be a "grey nomad") Can I hitch direct to Disco or do I need some sort of "cushioned" hitch to protect caravan chassis? (Seemed to be an issue a few years ago)
