    P38A Dash Lifting Demist Vents

Afternoon All, Got an issue on my P38 that I would like to rectify if possible without removing or replacing the complete fascia! The dash foam is lifting either side of the demist vents both on the driver and passenger side, the one in the middle seems to be ok at the moment. So the top part...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

I actually feel slightly better reading this because at the time I felt like a complete numpty not being able to remove the airline from the bag (and subsequently ended up butchering the pipe), as everyone was telling me it was such a simple thing to do, push in and pull the pipe out. Crap...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

Morning All, To close this thread down, fitted two new Dunlop rear bags over the weekend along with some new pipe and connectors and all appears well, the back end has not dropped. Thank you to all who took the time to reply and provide advice, greatly appreciated and gave me the confidence...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

Hindsight is a wonderful thing. I dont think there is enough length on the pipe to be able to drop the bag down far enough to be able to access the nut but I might be wrong, the space is really tight. Just cutting a small length off the pipe (just past the bulge) is enough to make the pipe too...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

I am not sure what bags they were, they went in the bin and bin men came this morning, I thought I saw Contitech on them but cant be 100% sure. They were in a bad state, all the bottom rubber was heavily cracked on both sides hence the rear end dropping overnight. I honestly do not know how...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

I have a pipe cutter which should help, as you say using snips is a no no as the end would be deformed. Good idea with measuring the depth, I will certainly do that to give me a guide on how far the new pipe needs to go in for a solid fitting. Yes correct I will not have the benefit of the...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

Right ordered the connectors and nylon pipe, hopefully will arrive later this week, then I can try and sort the issue over the weekend. Just out of interest does anyone know what pressure the air suspension system operates at? I guess these connectors can hold that pressure? With my luck...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

Very kind of you to offer, only problem is the car is now on axle stands waiting for the new bags. Also I need to order some pipe and connections. Found the connectors slightly cheaper, I think these should be ok, they sell straight and elbow? Connector They also sell pipe but I don't really...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

Thank you for the advice I will order up a metre or two of 6mm pipe and will buy a couple of 90 degree and straight fittings and see how I get on.

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

Yes I should have cut the pipe for sure but I didn't know any better at the time, it had the bags on from when I bought the car. I would strongly advise anyone to check the connection on new bags before fitting and if it has this type of connection don't bother because if you ever need to...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

I have no idea why they didn't just pop out, very frustrating, I was cursing yesterday . Maybe its because it had this nut type fixing, this isnt my bag because I had to smash it off but its representative of the connection it had on my rear bags where the pipe went it. Even when I had...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

These are the bags I've ordered (Dunlop), not Britpart so hopefully they fit without an issue as thought Dunlop were fitted from manufacture of the vehicle? They haven't arrived yet, should arrive later this week, I just wanted to get the old bags removed in preparation for when the new one's...

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

Yes cant change things. As you say I will have to cut past the raised collar as the pipe up to it is now no good. Then will have to hope it can still reach. If not I will have to order some pipe and repair joints. Thanks for your help/advice, I appreciate it.

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

Believe me I pushed very hard and with various screwdrivers and pulled hard on the pipe it would not budge, I spent a good 30 minutes trying on both sides. This wasn't a one try and then give up job.

    P38A Rear Air Spring Problems

So after successfully replacing one of the blend motors yesterday, today I started on what I thought would be an easier repair replacing the rear air springs as the back end keeps dropping overnight, removed the timer relay, front stays high the back drops down. Anyway, how wrong I was thinking...

P38A Heater problem - stuck on demist

Changed the blend motor today, took me a while but glad I decided to do it. As you said Datatek no need to remove the dash which was a relief, managed to access it after removing the instrument cluster. New blend fitted and now it all works as it should, no more stuck on demist. Thanks to...

P38A Heater problem - stuck on demist

Is it a job that can be tackled alone or do you need two people to get the dash out? Never attempted anything like this before but willing to give it a go over the next few weeks if the weather improves!! It will probably take me a long time to do because I am no mechanic but hey its got to be...
