2001 TD5 disco and 145000 miles. keep toying with replacing it with a disco 3 but havent done it yet!!

Just a quick question, i am replacing the o rings and copper washers on my td5 and just about to reinstall them but copper washers keep dropping off injector into bottom of housing when tring to fit injector back into head, is it ok to put a smear of copper grease on washer to hold it in place...

yes meant washers and seals, wasnt running rough before but whilst i've got rocker cover off i may as well change harness too!!! The oil smells ok as far as i can tell but its due for a change next month so will probably do it anyway!

wasnt questioning just trying to find an easy way to fix!! Apologies if it sounded that way. Have just looked at ecu and there is loads of oil at plug so gonna have to take rocker cover off and replace loom,will do injector seals as well. thanks for the advice,its much appreciated :)

if it was the injector seals then why does it run fine for a mile or so and then just die? Its as if its getting starved of fuel! When it stops,if i wait a couple of mins for it to purge itself of air it will start and run fine again for another mile then dies! Will have a good look round this...

One of the fuel pipes on my td5 disco is leaking diesel out of it.I think it's the return pipe because it comes from front of disco and not from pump. Anyway,its a plastic pipe which looks likes it been rubbing on the cross member just at front of the fuel tank,went and ordered a new pipe but...

I,ve just swapped my isuzu trooper 3litre for a TD5 because of the same problem,the seals on the injectors leak diesel past into the oil and then the engine just revs itself to death....usually costs around £4-5000 to fix although isuzu have got a recall campaign to rectify the problem. I hope...
