    Checking shock absorbers ?

Hi All, Can anyone tell me how to visually check a front shock absorber (while its removed from the car) i.e. if its pressed in and out several times, should there be a slight film of oil appear on the chrome piston rod bit ? This is what I'm getting and its meant to be a new shocker. If I wipe...

    Air flow meter, 3AM or 5AM ?

Hi Guys, I'm going to go down the Hotwire EFI route ( I'm taking eightinavee's advice!) I see there are 2 types of air flow meter, the 3AM and the 5AM, basically what is the difference ? Why 2 different types on the same system ? Thanks, Dave

    Fitting 3.9 EFI to a 3.5 ?

Thanks for the replies, Eightinavee, thanks for your very positive reply, it was what I was hoping to hear! plus the info you gave was very welcome. Just one question, will the ECU need rechipping or something for it to run the EFI system on the 3.5 correctly ? Thanks, Dave.

    Fitting 3.9 EFI to a 3.5 ?

Do early Range Rovers had Lambda sensors ?

Hi Bwarb, Thanks for the info and help, I will do just that, I'll trace every wire back to the ECU plug and if I can find out whats meant to go to each pin in the plug (google search or something) then I can double check as I go. Anyway, thanks for that great bit of thinking, I now have...

Do early Range Rovers had Lambda sensors ?

Hi bwarb, Yes I have the RR wiring loom (I like a challenge, but not that big!) there isn't an extra connector on it (good point) but there are 2 wires that have been cut ? but they could be a supply feed ? maybe.... Dave

Do early Range Rovers had Lambda sensors ?

Hi Chaps, Thanks for all the replies and comments etc. Right, the reason I'm asking about the Lambdas is I have a Rover SD1 3.5 V8 and want to fit a fuel injection system from an early Range Rover (the Lucas Flapper type) and was told that the Range Rover has Lambdas and as the Rover SD1...

Do early Range Rovers had Lambda sensors ?

Hi Everyone, This is my first post and it starts with a very important question: Do early (up to 1988ish) range rover 3.5 V8's with EFi (the flapper type) have Lambda sensors ? I've looked around and can't this info anywhere, I know the 3.9 V8's have the Hotwire EFi and they have the Lambdas...
