    The tool to remove the input collar is about 500 quid, I managed it with- 2 leg puller and a searing puller. Putting the collar back on I use a bit of exhaust pipe and a screw thread : )

    It is comparatively cheap, compared to a recon box. It would be a lie to say it’s easy, but I managed to do it with out the expensive Land Rover tools.

    Fitted replacement R380 with higher 5th and LT230 with ATB. Both working well, especially in the ice and snow in Northern Sweden.     How about having a bash at rebuilding it, I just did mine, never did one before, it’s manageable. Chasing the end float was a bit of a pain. Ashcroft and Winchester do rebuild kits
