Disco 2 Headlight washer non-return valve.

How did it go in the end? Did you manage without removing the bumper? I suspect I've got the same issue and need to replace DNE100050

Disco 2 Is my ACE leaking fluid at the actuator arm? New bushing?

Thanks guys! Do you think mine looks bad? I’ve seen this stuff, won’t it just clog the system up? Anyone used it successfully on ACE weeps? ARBs? I like ACE, seems to work well!

Disco 2 Is my ACE leaking fluid at the actuator arm? New bushing?

This is what I feared How do I know if it’s bad enough to do this? I saw other threads where people report this and get advised to leave it

Disco 2 Is my ACE leaking fluid at the actuator arm? New bushing?

So I think I've spotted two issues with my Discovery 2 ACE: 1. There seems to be a PAS fluid leak somewhere from the actuator. Can I fix this with new seals or does the whole unit have to go? 2. Bushing of the actuator is buggered? Is this easy to replace? Here's how it looks. What's your...

Disco 2 Unknown coolant leak at the front onto the oil filter and diff

I cleaned it off and then filmed it fresh. It drips onto the front diff and oil filter, and seems to pool under an aluminum surface higher up. I've tried to show those locations in this video (my coolant is blue): Looking from the engine bay downwards, I can't see anything. It's got a new...

Disco 2 What to look for when inspecting watts linkage?

Give it a nice tug. Play in which direction? What's acceptable wear on the bushes? Anything else? I'm asking because I sometimes get a clunk from the back somewhere and trying to rule things out

Disco 2 Replace red part on intake manifold to brake booster: LZN100220L vs. LR052965

I've got a vacuum leak from the brake booster connector on the intake manifold: (I've put another video of the leak at the end) Question: I'm debating whether to replace the whole assembly or just the red bit. Is it easy to get just the red bit out? It's cheaper to just buy this LR052965...

Potential downsides of "the best PCV mod" on a Discovery 2?

I'm considering this "best 4x4 mod" from another forum, it's basically a slight PCV valve relocation on the Discovery 2a What could potential downsides of it be? Unintended consequences? Essentially you're moving the PCV valve higher up, closer to the intake manifold, so oil would be...

Disco 2 Too much play in front driveshaft? Loud clank when accelerating

Here's how much it moves in park and handbrake: I often hear a loud clank when abruptly giving gas or abruptly taking the foot off after accelerating/being at inclines. Probably from that play, right? Specs of note: - About a 10mm lift above factory in the front, and about 20-25mm lift in...

Disco 2 Replacing head lining, what else should I do while I’m there? Sunroofs? Drains? Wiring?

I’m planning on doing my head lining in the next few weeks as it’s sagging V8 Discovery 2a HSE with two sunroofs I’m gonna also add cheap AliExpress sound deadening to the roof to help with wind noise and potentially the Australian sun What else should I replace when I’ve got it off? A)...

Wanted Any fellow Aussies? Where to buy D2 PCV mod in Australia? Part V288 or FV308

Thanks! It has to have some kind of PCV valve inside it though: to stop oil/air going the wrong way

Wanted Any fellow Aussies? Where to buy D2 PCV mod in Australia? Part V288 or FV308

There's this handy guide on a PCV valve mod for the Discovery II on another forum with tons of part numbers. I googled each one of them and looked for online stores that ship to Australia. They're all in the US and most don't ship to Australia. It's a $5 part, but the ones that do, it'd come...

Disco 2 Nanocom/RAVE manual is wrong: adjusting windows after removing key and opening a door?

So I did everything, tried: - UK - Sweden - Norway - US - Unknown And also: 1) writing new settings 2) powering down nanocom, unplugging 3) removing key for 60 seconds 4) powering car back on and trying Also the first two settings are exactly the same: driver vs. all — I get the same...

Disco 2 Does your Discovery 2 also lower at traffic lights?

Will do and will report back. I borrowed a Nanocom for a week! It doesn't show SLS errors, just an ACE one (accelerometer values not changing, don't think that's relevant) If it's a leak as you suspect somewhere: Could be that air is leaking from one side and the other lowers to accommodate...

Disco 2 Does your Discovery 2 also lower at traffic lights?

I didn't have a chance to mess with the relays yet, but: I think it's the rear dropping! I drove with my windows down and radio off, and I could hear the SLS hissing when stopped at traffic lights as the "front raises" (but the rear drops in reality) It sometimes happens when I'm maneuvering...

Disco 2 Nanocom/RAVE manual is wrong: adjusting windows after removing key and opening a door?

I didn't do the 60 second thing (wasn't a prompt for that like with SLABS) but I'll try it But it would save the setting when I'd reconnect again! And the behavior would change as I'd flip between the modes 1/2 to 3 and back I'll try the European standard Does it change anything else by...

    Disco 2 Not sitting level

Interesting! I have SLS in the back and also the same issue like you were the driver's side is about 10mm lower than the passenger's This was the case with the factory springs, and also the new Dobinson's ones I fitted, where the longer one was indeed the driver's side one, which still sits...

Disco 2 New tyre size -> new speedometer

To piggyback, I've got 265/60/18 tyres on my 20mm lift D2a V8. Factory is 255/55/18. The speedo is out by quite a bit compared to GPS speed. Apart from expensive recalibrations, nothing I can do, right?
