Thank you for the replies. I don’t think I‘d like to risk taking the engine out myself in case I can’t put it back together again. If the camshaft bearing has shifted, is that something that can be fixed?

Ah yes, silly of me. It’s 200tdi. Head gasket and cambelt was changed (see my other thread). About a week later I was driving home from work and the oil light came on, I had to limp a few more miles to somewhere I could safely stop. Engine making awful noises. I think the oil pump failed as oil...

So, my oil pump has failed and possibly caused a seizure. If I need a new engine, are there any recommendations on a supplier, how much I should be paying for it and a recommendation on where I could have it done in Devon. Any advice gratefully received..

Yes, I did notice that. To be honest I was just pleased to have it back and have 20 litres of 15/40 stockpiled, in any event.

So, I've had my 90 back since yesterday after 2 months (!!!!!) in my local garage. Head skimmed and re-installed, also cam belt and water pump replaced, as well as clutch master slave, 1 coil drilled out and replaced, as well as all fluids...Wait for it..£2088. Completely lost the summer, what...

Thanks for all the replies. I've taken it to a garage, as although I'm keen to learn to do things myself, I don't have a covered space to use and doing it on the roadside seems a tall order, for me anyway. Also, if it does need skimming or it turns out to be something else, I'll be completely...

I think my Head Gasket has blown. Milky grey sludge under the oil filler cap and coolant has completely disappeared, dipstick looked very odd and running very hot. I'm not remotely confident in my ability to resolve this as a keen to learn but low skilled DIY'er. How much money (as a ballpark)...

Hello, I seem to have some oil bubbling up through the last rocker cover bolt (see photo). I've ordered 3 new washers to fit but was wondering if there's a torque setting that I need to use when tightening the bolts back up? Any advice, as ever, gratefully received..

Yes, I repaired the other side with rivets but the footwell on this side has nothing to sit on, on the right hand side. Do you think that I could rivet an L shaped bracket on rather than welding it on? Heh heh, yes good point.
