I need to replace the diff driveshaft oil seal due to it leaking. I prefer to avoid undoing the driveshaft nut as I don't have a 400nm torque wrench. Can the driveshaft be taken out of the diff by removing the link arms but leaving the other end attached to the hub?

I don't have the original fobs. The previous owner had lost them. I only have the key which I use to manually lock/unlock the doors. Are you saying programming is not possible without a working fob?

Can anyone advise where i can buy a remote central locking key fob for a Freelander 1? I have spoken to a local auto electrician. They can not supply the fob but are able to programme it to the vehicle for £25.00.
