    LED Headlights, Sidelight Query

Good points both, yes I did buy complete units and I have to say the beam pattern is very impressive with a clear flat top and flick up to the left (technical terms). I have read several threads and I know there is constant debate on how legal etc they are. If they prove to be problematic in...

    LED Headlights, Sidelight Query

Lack of current was my thought, but can't quite figure out why that would effect the relay as you can operate a relay without a load even connected? Crikey that's a good point and something I never considered! Although it's rare driving in snow at night that is quite some consideration..!

    LED Headlights, Sidelight Query

Evening, I recently fitted a pair of non-halo LED headlights and they are great but for some reason the dipped beam comes on as soon as I turn the sidelights on. If I turn the dipped lights on and off again, the dipped beam goes out for a few seconds then comes back on again. Is this to do...

    Creaking rear door catch

Brilliant! The young squeak is definitely now a loud creak! Thanks, I did recently oil them with all the other hinges etc but will look to change the pins.

    Creaking rear door catch

Hi, my rear door catch is driving me mad, it started as a squeak and has slowly evolved into a creak after about 4 lots of adjustment! I've moved the pin inwards a couple of times so the door shuts tighter, also tried loosening the screws through the rubber block to let it expand slightly, then...

    Sill to body seal?

The NS is much tighter, barely a gap. I've only just realised how you adjust the panels to close the gap (I think) by moving the inner sill outwards to meet the cover panel- yet to be attempted! There are remnants of sealant visible, think I'll try to close the gap slightly and run a small...

    Sill to body seal?

Yes I have the later pressed doors so puma seals should fit easily. The sill lines up with the door nicely so if I move it inwards it may look odd. I reckon the best way will be to put a fat rubber seal in the gap!

    Sill to body seal?

I considered that maybe they should be a closer fit, but that there still must be some sort of seal to close the gap whether it's 1mm or 10mm!

    Sill to body seal?

Morning, can someone tell me what is supposed to seal this gap? 2005 TD5. I was thinking about fitting later door bottom seals but no point when there is a 10mm gap on the inside of it!!!

    Half Shaft Play

Thanks, the movement is very clear between the splines, I assumed replacing one or the other would help but didn't know if the wear is generally 50/50 or more in one item. Maybe I'll do the flanges first, are cheap ones ok or a waste of money?

    Half Shaft Play

Hi, all 4 of my halfshafts are showing significant play in the outer joints, they are two piece on a 2005 TD5 90. The rears appear worse but not sure if this is just me. Are the one piece items recommended so there is no outer spline to wear or is there a downside to this type? It does some...

    Rear Seat Belt Top Brackets

...also, any idea what the 4x M8 nuts, 1x M8 top hat, 2x plastic and 4x stainless washers are for? No instructions whatsoever and other than 1 existing nut there are no M8 fixings in the area?!

    Rear Seat Belt Top Brackets

Hi, I'm fitting my folding rear seats (forward facing to replace the old side facing) and unsure of the best way to finish the trim around the monstrous top mounting brackets. They fit, but some significant cutting is going to be required and I wondered if anyone with the same set up could...

    Speaker change - result

I nearly went with separate tweeters on top of the dash but didn't bother in the end, and after a little research I'm going to put a small active sub under the cubby box to help. The head unit with ext microphone was an excellent purchase and I gather it is very clear on the other end of the phone!

    Led lights

My trailer has LED lights and the dash does not "recognise" when it is connected, I'm planning to install a couple of resistors in the indicator lines to create more of a load to cure this, I believe it is an easy fix and should be the same for the vehicle itself.

    Speaker change - result

Afternoon all, just a basic thread (probably pointless but may be useful) to mention my thoughts after a straight forward speaker upgrade. I previously replaced the head unit with a Sony DAB one, this also has full Bluetooth functions including an external microphone for excellent hands free...

    Filling old drill holes

I'm inclined to agree that square patches would be more of a bodge than round ones though!!

    Filling old drill holes

Hi all, I've removed the old side mounted seats from my 90 and now have about two dozen holes in the arches. I've bought a new rubber liner to tidy it up, but I want to fill the holes first. I was considering rubber grommets but think they may be a little too tall and pop out with weight put...

    Folding/Flip Key Conversion

Hi, I've searched but only found some expired links. I would like to change to a folding key and have seen cheap key conversions on ebay etc, but I also want a spare made up and don't know how much I trust a <£10 remote key to work reliably. Does anyone know of a company who can supply new...

    Odd fuel gauge?

Hi all, my 05 TD5 90 has shown an odd fault today, I've only had it for a week but this morning the fuel gauge showed empty despite it having 1/2 a tank, it slowly crept back up to half way over 5-10 minutes. It did the same mid-morning, then this afternoon the needle shot straight up to half...
