Thank you Nodge68, I will change the wiring harness over the weekend and let you know how if that sorts the problems.

My 2006 freelander td4 engine went bang in a big way, conrod out the side of the block, cam shaft snapped etc. Replaced engine with a 2002 freelander td4 complete with wiring looms from breakers, which refuses to start, but will run on easy start. Diagnostics shows that at least 6 engine sensors...
