F1: leaking rear diff - repairable?

Many thanks for the advice, and many apologies for the tardy response. I've whacked a load of Lucas Heavy Duty Oil Stabiliser in there, which appears to be holding the fort at the moment, but it looks like I'll have to bite the bullet and source a reconditioned item (and VCU) for its...

F1: leaking rear diff - repairable?

2006 (56) Freelander 1 TD4. 185,000 miles, purchased new. Hope you all can help. Have had a leaking rear diff (seal) as an advisory for ages now. A pre-emptive top up every so often kept things in order. More recently, had a grating/ chugging noise from the back and, luckily being near home...

F1 driver's door window regulator - part no/ electrical connector?

And that's the answer! Bloody stiff/ stuck, but hardly surpising after 18 years and I can see why the motor fitting failed first. Thanks very much - much appreciated. Cheers, Jack.

F1 driver's door window regulator - part no/ electrical connector?

I've a Freelander 1 2006 facelift (April 2006). Recently, the driver's door window regulator failed. I ordered a replacement - apparently LR006371 - but when I tried to fit it, I found the electrical connector pins on the replacement motor are quite different to the OE and you can't 'plug' it...

    TD4 gear change difficulties

Just a quick one to say that thanks to the advice above, the car was quickly and easily fettled, and driving very nicely again. Appreciated. Cheers, Jack.

    TD4 gear change difficulties

Thanks for that. It has humped some weight about in its time - given the shonky reputation they have in some quarters, it's been a great old bus for us. One more question if I may: is the master cylinder replacement an epic, get-the-gearbox-out massive labour job; or relatively straightforward...

    TD4 gear change difficulties

Thanks. It is a TD4. The DMF was done twice - both about 75K miles. I've read conflicting reports about the need: some people say they're good for two clutches, others that the labour cost is so high when doing the clutch, you might as well get it done while they're in there. I can check...

    TD4 gear change difficulties

I've got a '56 Freelander 1 with about 150,000 miles on. The clutch and DMF were replaced, for the second time, about five months ago. More recently, it has become a bit of a fight to change gear. First is worst, then second, sometimes third, hardly ever fourth or fifth; with reverse sometimes...
