Most cars are money pits. But yes, it was in fact free. Having said that, the money it needs I think will be less than 1.5k. Lots of my time too but I hope it will be a good early example at the end of it.

Lots of rotten sills out there, but at this stage are there enough people wanting to spend money on these cars? I reckon still a couple of years off.

In fact further update on the welding, just got a quote. Both sills (lots of holes all the way down) and up on visible metal on rear arch where the back doors open. £250-300. I will have to then get it painted but I'm pretty happy with that. That is butt welded, proper plates made. For a laugh...
