    Would agree if broken, but seems complete. It’s almost as though it was supposed to be there. There was also about 10mm of gunk and oil on both front and rear mag plug. Is this usual for 100,000?

    I should now point out that the oil has gone back in and vehicle back on road (without piece of metal). I’m just confirming I’ve not made a mistake.

    First guess was about right. Just want to check it’s not part of mechanism. I’m expecting it to be a method of attracting smaller particles to the mag plug? Seems unlikely to have come from assembly.

    This was on the mag plug. On the front diff. There wasn’t one in the rear one.

    Why is there a metal cylinder in one of my diffs but not the other? Also how much is too much metal gunk on the magnetic plug? I had no large pieces, maybe a few half mm bits, but a lot of filings and magnetised oil.

    Brilliant, thank you. Nice to get some confirmation. I’ve seen a video about diverting the A/C drain. If I can find time I’ll do that too. Been out again today for a longer drive and a little bit on the bumps and working nicely (fingers crossed). Thanks again.

    Changing the battery didn’t solve the problem initially. Later, I did improve the contact on the negative terminal though, not sure if this would have such a dramatic effect?

    Thank you. I do have a dog of the same name! Thanks for the rave pointer. I think I can get access to the Hawkeye. I’ve aleady repaired the second key that came with it (broken). Don’t know what the EKA but will find out this evening! Thanks again.
