2013. - have a fair bit of oxidisation on the aluminium components under the rear passenger seats too. I’m hoping a brush off and acid prime will help those areas

Hmmm thoght that might have been to obvious -maybe an issue with the dim/dim relay? Maybe this?

At each lamp you have 3 wires? ground or neg, plus dipped beam input and main beam input? try swapping the 2 round that aren't the ground (neg)?
