Rear brake and night lights nothing working

Hi, Have recently bought a freelander 1 and Noticed the rear light cluster doesn’t light up when the brake is pressed or when the headlamps are turned on, but if I turn the fog lights on they light up. All other break lights at the rear work. Any ideas why this is? Thanks in advanced
