Disco 2 TD5 Battery Terminal Clamps - What To Get?

i just put a thin piece of copper around the terminal so that now its nice and tight!

Disco 2 AC fan not kicking in

i might go this route although i m not a big fan to be honest as i like being able to "brag" when the temperature is showing 44 degrees Celsius on the control lol. If i bridge the earth for the compressor and fan relays, would this engage the compressor if the ecu decides to turn on the AC fan...

Disco 2 AC fan not kicking in

Replaced the engine bay fusebox as it had lots of corrosion and now there arent any errors anymore will still hack the system though so that the fan comes on whenever the ac is on. Was planning to bridge the earth of the two relays unless there is a better method?

Disco 2 TD5 Low Fuel pressure!!

Having testing the fp / lp swap i can say there a little difference in pickup and power at the top of the rev range. I can also see that the turbo is now boost a more, up to 1.45 Bar, where before it was boosting around 1.3 Bar. Black smoke is also less now!! Im wondering about economy will...

    Disco 2 Stubborn 3 amigos!!

Intermittent 4 amigos are back. Always the same front left sensor error. Im now testing another module. The only strange thing that i have noticed is that when i jack the wheel up and turn it, the kph readout is shown correctly on nanocom however the voltage readout changes for the rear right...

    Disco 2 td5 fuel purging doesn't work?

Sounds about right. Did it make a difference how it sounds if you add an earth strap?

    Disco 2 td5 fuel purging doesn't work?

Can you describe further the poor starting issue? If it does not randomly cut out it could also be a battery or earth issue. With the key turned on when the pump starts working (before starting the engine) check that you have good voltage, also try to add an earth from battery to body and listen...

    Disco 2 td5 fuel purging doesn't work?

poor starting will be a leak somewhere. Common places to look for: 1. behind the fuel tank, near the chassis rail (passenger side, there is a nylon pipe that is known to break). 2. fuel filter housing can leak 3. check for a big leak from the the FPR, a tiny leak should not cause issues. 4. if...

Disco 2 TD5 Low Fuel pressure!!

true but nobody mentions the plug at the back (above the rear axle). Something like this should be perfect for that location and really easy to fit and remove whenever you want (ordered one to see if im right!) ...

Disco 2 TD5 Low Fuel pressure!!

the joys of figuring out what the drunk previous owner did before you

Disco 2 TD5 Low Fuel pressure!!

I look around and there are two places where you can fit a gauge to the Green (HP) line - either at the back near the fuel tank or at the FPR

Disco 2 TD5 Low Fuel pressure!!

so by fitting the gauge to the fuel feed line, that is the direct pipe from the fuel pipe (green pipe), so it is before the FPR. Well i did more digging and found out someone has been there before and obviously made a hash of it. Low pressure and high pressure pipes were switched so pump was...

Disco 2 TD5 Low Fuel pressure!!

is there any way i could rule it out? can i check the pressure before maybe?

Disco 2 TD5 Low Fuel pressure!!

fitted my spare pump and its EXACTLY the same. runs fine, but its showing low pressure. now im thinking if both of my gauges are somehow wrong or if im missing something o_O

Disco 2 AC fan not kicking in

yes, the fan had been replaced in the past for a Spal one and it does work. I hacked the system a bit by bridging the relay connectors for the clutch and the fan so now it has no choice but to come on whenever there is a request for the ac clutch but am concerned that the errors might indicate...

    Disco 2 Crank speed high

mine once wouldnt start after cleaning the engine bay and noticed the wiring was a little cracked. gave it time to dry out and it started fine but i did replace the wiring and plug to try to avoid it in the future. removing the starter will make it considerably easier to work on it. i know i...

    Disco 2 Crank speed high

it is probably the wiring or the plug not the actual sensor. its quite sensitive and cracks in the insulation would disrupt the signal if it gets wet. Pace 4x4 sells a complete wiring overlay (https://pace4x4.com/shop/ols/products/td5-crank-sensor-overlay) or you can make your own using a 3...

Disco 2 AC fan not kicking in

ok, thanks for the new information :) so the hacking part is ready lol, but i dont like that i have the open circuit errors. im guessing i need to investigate the fusebox a little. is it hard to remove? once tried to remove the internal fusebox and i couldnt get the connectors off no matter how...

Disco 2 AC fan not kicking in

noticed a while back that the AC fan is not coming on when I switch on the ac. as far as i know the fan should come on whenever the AC is on, regardless of the temperature (i usually set it to 16 or LO)? I think it may be an issue with the engine bay fusebox as when i connected the earth from...
