Technically, yes it is an MOT fail however...the EGR is underneath the engine cover and testers aren't allowed to remove covers etc. as part of the test. So, on that basis, if they can't see there is a blanking plate then they can't fail it :)

My 2000 Disco 2 does this too. I found out by accident in a car park a few weeks' ago!

Somehow the little white piece of plastic behind the mirror glass has broken, and I'm struggling to get the mirror glass back on. Has this happened to anyone else, and if so how did you fix it?! I have tried Gorilla glue but it doesn't seem to hold enough for me to get the glass on.

Haha! I said something similar Stanley steamer, until I tried it and the door still didn't work. This happens both when the car is and isn't running, so would agree with the mechanical issue. Perhaps as with my rear driver's door, a replacement of the door lock actuator may resolve? Nig43...
