whatever landy I get I will be getting a Dual battery charger and some decent batteries, and if I need an uprated alternator. I have dual battery setup in the forester with one in the boot, but I needed an uprated alternator as the OEM one wasnt up to the job.

Just out of interest can the ECU in the landy be connected to? The subaru ECU can be connected to via a cable to a laptop, and you can read the parameters in the ECU, such as throttle position, water/oil temp, turbo boost. Plus the faults can be read. You can read them but not change them...

Yep a turbo is out of the question as well as I need to be able to fix it. I want some thing older with fancy electronics. Something you can hit with a big hammer if something goes t@ts up! That motor on ebay wont stay at hat price for long, the book price for a W reg is £7500.
